  • The Yoga Lifestyle And Dealing With Pain, Elanora Library

    Tuesday, 7 May
The practice of yoga meditation and yoga breathing can help to draw the mind away from dwelling on the pain.

By finding a positive focus, a person is able to rise above the pain and direct their consciousness to more pleasant thoughts.

By slowing the breath and relaxing, a person can let go of muscle tension and stop the body’s natural impulse to push pain away. In many cases the pain decreases in intensity and loses its full impact.

Through mindfulness, a person can distance themselves from the pain and experience themselves as the observer of the pain, rather than being overwhelmed by the full impact of the pain.

In conjunction with the GCCC’s Active and Healthy Program (and GCCC Library Programs), the Australian School of Meditation & Yoga are happy to present many new yoga lifestyle lectures at libraries on the Gold Coast.
